Shomrim established an Emergency Resilience Fund for Israel’s Frontline Journalists, that will provide grants for mental resilience support to journalists, photographers, videographers, and sound technicians working in combat zones in both southern and northern Israel war zones
The unprecedented attack by Hamas on October 7 inflicted a harrowing toll on the State of Israel and Israeli society. Over 1,400 people have lost their lives, more than 5,400 have been injured and over 230 innocent individuals, including men, women and children are being held hostage in Gaza. The unimaginable atrocities committed against citizens shocked the country and the world.
Since the outbreak of the "Swords of Iron" war, journalists have been on the frontline around the clock to provide real-time coverage of the unfolding war events and to expose the extreme images and stories. The journalists on the ground work tirelessly, often risking their lives and being exposed to the most difficult stories that emerge as a result of the fighting. These journalists capture the images, stories and sounds that bring the reality of war to the public. They not only face constant physical danger, but also endure the emotional and mental toll of their work.
Shomrim - The Center for Media and Democracy in Israel, is an independent, non-profit news organization established with the aim of strengthening investigative journalism in Israel and working in cooperation with media outlets in Israel and the world.

The fund will award a one-time support grant of 8,000 NIS to journalists who meet the threshold conditions.
