The connection between Moti Sender, an Israeli businessman and political operative, and Romanian presidential candidate, Mircea Geoană, began days after Geoană met President Isaac Herzog in Jerusalem. Sender told various people that Herzog asked him to help Geoană in part because he is sympathetic to Israel.
